從這圖可看出右下圖是當初在OTGP創下FF TUBO 街車2:02.64的單圈記錄。可看出這相差1秒可能感覺沒什麼,但事實上距離可差超過3~4部車了。time compare

引擎硬體升級

Various engine components are hardware are being upgraded with new specification for more durability.  Various data collected from long term testing allows us to ping point the areas for improvements to further assure the performance and durability.

This engine also feature the new updated 8.6:1 compression ratio, deducted crank balancer.

引擎油溫 – 機油冷排 (降溫是制勝的關鍵)

引擎機油溫度太低或太高對引擎的壽命與性能有相對的影響,正常渦輪引擎工作溫度如可維持在 185°F~200°F 是最好,但在激烈操作下渦輪引擎油溫容易達到120°C~130°C,所以做好引擎油溫的改善是好事。

對於高性能渦輪引擎原始的壓縮比為9.5:1的確太高,限定了最大增壓至1.0bar,長期測試告訴了我們引擎的耐用度的考量需調整壓縮比。

XPro2 從新製作活塞降容量把壓縮比調為8.6:1,第一目標設定增壓1.2bar為長期耐用度的考量,第二階段測試增壓1.6bar的耐用度,引擎動力釋放設定為240hp,最高轉速為7,500 rpm。

From all the testings, we’ve found that the factory exhaust manifold design can further improve the exhaust flow.  We’ve enlarge the exhaust manifold port that connects to the turbo.

With the exhaust manifold port enlarged, the turbo port will match to the exhaust manifold port for better flow, increase exhaust pressure to the exhaust turbine.

底盤設定到一個段落。油箱 4/3滿 + 駕駛 85kg,50% cross weight…  (車重 = 1,338kg 含油,無駕駛)

前Camber 設定為-4.0º 為對應 Federal Tires 595RS-R。

HOT!  HOT!  HOT!  熱!熱!熱!

昨天的測試實在是熱爆了!在這麼熱的天氣實在是對車輛的考驗是非常嚴苛的。在這麼熱的天氣引擎的動力一定有的衰竭,在所有的調教如TSD散熱處理,地盤的調教,煞車系統的考驗,達到預期的水準。但是在天氣炎熱的狀況下,引擎的動力損失了不少,所以這幾天開始進行新的project。

We managed to achieve good lap time even in such hot weather (36°+ C).  The achievement was accomplished with new chassis setup and improvement of engine thermal management.

發現Stan的腳不對勁

What is PRO?
PRO就是不論任何情況下都要把目標完成!
哪怕是韌帶斷裂,也要達成使命!
兩個月前Stan 腳後跟的韌帶(阿基里斯腱)斷裂,進行了重建手術至今,短短的兩個月的時間,理論上是還不能活動了,但是Stan卻已經在賽道上努力了,他說:PRO就是沒有任何藉口,就是要完成任務!
今天完成測試回到飯店後,突然發現Stan的腳腫了起來,我們趕緊為Stan進行冰敷,看得他腳的情況,實在很難想像他是怎麼再受傷的情況進行這麼激烈的測試!
希望各位朋友持續關注XPro2的動態,讓各位的關心變成我們的力量,我們會為各位帶來更多的驚嘆號!

今天早上的測試主要是設定新的變速箱,結論是終傳&齒比不適合目前的設定,馬上前往 LUXGEN 屏東生活館進行變速箱更換。下午回大鵬灣測試。

受Mr. Ted Lin (President of GEARS) 特別的邀約,下午3:30 team XPro2 抵達 GEARS 屏東的總部來參觀,這裡就是 XPro2 樣式車/比賽車 手工特製GEARS避震器的誕生處。

10GEARS 辦公室低調的設計,員工工作氣氛非常溫馨。

 

20可以看到 Mr. Ted 喜歡收集一些藝術畫。產品的擺設也非常有品味。

 

30 Mr. Ted 已經在辦公室等待 Team XPro2 的到達。據說所有的 shocks 設計&概念都是從他的雙手創造出來的。

 

40這道門就是進入測試&研發的心臟。

 

50Shocks 給客人預定的正在測試中。 減震彈簧正在嚴苛的驗證細數且計入所有的數據。

 

60新新款的全鋁減震桶正在測試&dyno。

早上10:00am Team XPro2 把行李裝上 LUXGEN M7從八里出發。

對應熱天氣,M+ GT AP2 中冷器 & 管路上 TSD 散熱塗料。The goal is to drop the intake temperature to improve hp gain.  As you are aware, every degree drop of intake temperature can have a positive effect to HP increase.

Rear wing transplant from the widebody prototype onto M+ GT AP2 for upcoming shake down.

為了在更進一步的測試,我們將白色寬體的原型車上面的後尾翼移植到了M+ GT AP2上!

XPro2 built M+ GT AP2 is receiving a corner weight adjustment along with other tweaks.

Vehicle weight without driver:  1320 kg (1360 kg AP1)

Rear:  38.7% (37.4% AP1)

Front wheel tracking width increased to 1890 mm.

Weight improvements was achieved with carbon fiber engine hood and front driver and passenger racing seats installed.

 

XPro2的M+ GT AP2正在接受一連串的重新設定,包括在corner weight和底盤上的調整.

車輛的重量(不含駕駛):1320 kg (1360 kg AP1)

後輪比重:38.7% (37.4% AP1)

前輪的輪距增加到1890mm

重量的減輕是借由碳纖維引擎蓋以及駕駛及副駕駛座桶型賽車座椅來達成.

XPro2 built 230hp M+ GT visited 三義 – 7/3 更新

M+ GT visited his birth place

Immediately after XPro2 test & tune at PenBay International Circuit on 6/26, the vehicle was requested to back to its birthplace.

From 6/27 ~ 7/2, the 230hp XPro2 built M+ GT went back to his birth place and received some engine testing, logging, and ECU tweaking to further extend its power output.

230hp XPro2 built S5 M+ GT has passed many extensive testings of:

  • Harsh track testing (over 2000 km)
  • Beat up high speed test runs (top speed clocked at 230km/h)
  • Taipei street test drives
  • Highway test drives
  • Logged over 20,000 km on the new engine with normal oil change cycle

在完成6/26大鵬灣國際賽車場的測試&調整之後,M+ GT馬上被要求回到它的出生地,裕隆三義廠.

2014.0626 XPro2 test & tune S5 GT at 大鵬灣

The team XPro2 arrived at Penbay International Circuit the morning of 2014.06.26.  The Penbay International Circuit is located southern Taiwan (http://www.pic-taiwan.com/), in which it is the only race track that is public available (members only).

The arrival of the XPro2 built LUXGEN S5 M+ GT (230hp) was to extend the previous record set (Fastest domestic production street car FF Turbo) with new chassis setup.  The new chassis setup consist of the new shock absorbers custom built by GEARS/XPro2 and benchmark with Federal Tires 595RSR (245/35-18) vs. Toyo R888 (245/40-18)

XPro2團隊在2014.06.26早上抵達大鵬灣國際賽車場,大鵬灣國際賽車場位於台灣南端(http://www.pic-taiwan.com/),是目前台灣唯一的一個賽車場(不過採取的是會員制).

這次來到大鵬灣的目的是要讓XPro2所製作的LUXGEN S5 M+ GT (230hp)借由底盤的調整後,將過去“最速國產FF  TURBO“的記錄再向前推進,這次新的底盤設定包括全新的GEARS/XPro2客製化設定的避震器阻尼以及將Federal Tires 595RSR (245/35-18)和Toyo R888 (245/40-18)拿來做測試比較.

Shock test & tune

The new shock design and setup is to refine from previous “track version”.  Specifically designed for the team XPro2 LUXGEN S5, it features rebound adjustable front shocks and a double adjustable rear shocks with coil over design on rear (instead of the spring and shocks separate).

The XPro2 M+ GT street version weights 1449 kg (with driver and 3/4 tank full), -4 degree front camber, rear 2mm toe out, the shock valving are very demanding for maximum handling and induce oversteer with balance.

However, the 2nd version built required more tweaks.  Stan requested for more front rebound and less compression and more compression and less rebound for the rear.  The spring rate also bumped from 8kg in rear to 10kg during testing, but next testing team XPro2 will try fitted with 12kg spring rate in rear.

 

Tires (Federal 595RSR vs Toyo R888)

The test fitted test sizes were the Federal 595RSR 245/35-18 vs Toyo R888 245/40-18.  By far, Toyo R888 provides superb grip over Federal 595RSR in every aspect performance level, however, it induced more understeer (which we do not want), and lack of the front straight speed we wanted.  The Toyo R888 for somehow just does not work with current chassis setup, with added overall diameter which changed the final drive gear ratio, it was a great disadvantage to the lap time.

The test resulted 4 seconds slower lap time with Toyo and over 10 km/h slower front straight speed.  That’s a huge difference.

What’s NEXT?

4 new sets of shock valving & spring combos are being redesigned for next testing session.

A possible engine power bump maybe be tested.

The vehicle entering the last corner, slightly the rear end lifted during breaking in which the weight was set to the right side of the vehicle.  At the corner entry, the vehicle weight was off the balance.

Mr. Allen Sung, a senior sales representative from LUXGEN dealer in Kaohsiung visited team XPro2 during the test & tune session.  He was granted permission test drove the XPro2 U6 GT230.  A happy man indeed.
